Pastor
I grew up in Atlanta, GA and spent years on the road as a professional drummer before being called into pastoral ministry. After serving churches in several states and earning my Master of Divinity degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, MA, my family and I moved to Seattle to plant a new church: a church like I’ve dreamed about for a long time. A church where the tattooed punk rocker, the musician, the suburbanite, the homeless, the executive, the rich and the poor, the young and the old, and every race would feel loved. A church that hasn’t been hijacked by the right or the left, republican or democrat. A church where it’s ok to think deeply, ask questions, and take your time.
I have been greatly influenced by the work of N.T. Wright, Richard Bauckham, Greg Beale, Karl Barth, Henri Nouwen, Dallas Willard, and the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.. I’m particularly interested in the Kingdom of God, spiritual formation, and racial reconciliation. You can probably find me hanging out at Husky Deli or Easy Street Records talking life, God, meaning, drums, and Seattle music. I love Seattle and love to explore the city with my wife Jennifer, and daughter Flora every chance we get.
